Most quests in the game provide a clear path forward, but the Keeping an Eye Out mission—introduced in the Shrouded Sky update—adds a layer of navigational mystery that has many Raiders scratching their heads. The quest log directs you toward a collapsed highway near the Barren Clearing on Blue Gate, but as any seasoned explorer knows, the map doesn’t always tell the whole story.
The primary hurdle is a misleading clue: there isn’t actually a collapsed highway near the Barren Clearing. Instead, your objective lies significantly closer to the Adorned Wreckage. To save you from wandering the wastes, I’ve detailed the exact steps to locate Bilguun’s shelter and secure your rewards.
Navigating to Bilguun’s Hidden Shelter
To begin, set your sights on the Adorned Wreckage located in the southern sector of Blue Gate. This area is conveniently situated near the extraction lift and the actual Highway Collapse. Trek toward the southwest border of the map where the skeletal remains of the old world’s infrastructure loom large; once you arrive, your quest objective should trigger an update.
Identifying the zipline and the highway structure is key to reaching the hideout.
Your target is Bilguun’s hidden shelter, tucked away inside the elevated highway structure to the southeast. Look for a small opening and a weathered stop sign at the end of the road. Here is the most efficient way to gain entry:
Navigate to the Highway Collapse area and ascend the ruins until you are positioned directly above the hideout.
Locate the zipline at the highway’s edge. This line runs down toward the ground near the Adorned Wreckage.
Engage the zipline to travel back up. The trick is to jump off just before you reach the top, allowing your character to mantle the ledge and pull themselves into the hidden room. Alternatively, precise platforming from the upper edge can drop you directly onto the ledge.
Once you have successfully breached Bilguun’s base, interact with the artwork on the back wall to capture a photo. With the data secured, you can drop back down to the surface. Fortunately, the Forest Airshaft extraction point is in the immediate vicinity, allowing for a quick exit from the zone.
