At Digital Tech Explorer, we were thrilled to dive into the excitement of the first-ever PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct! If you caught our Twitch and YouTube broadcasts, or simply want a comprehensive breakdown of every announcement, you’ve come to the right place. Our tech storyteller, TechTalesLeo, has curated all the highlights for you.
This year’s show marked a significant shift from the usual summer and Most Wanted broadcasts. With the Tokyo Game Show celebrating nearly 30 years, it was high time we highlighted some of the incredible titles coming from that vibrant scene. Attendees on the ground got an exclusive hands-on with *Fambotic*, a delightful farming sim featuring charming robot companions. For those following along at home, the trailer presented during Tokyo Direct offered a fantastic preview of what’s in store.
Among the exciting reveals, we saw the intense zombie action of *Killing Floor 3*, the quirky and distinctly British charm of *Earth Must Die*, and one of the most uniquely imaginative games we’ve encountered: *Tenshattack*, where you embody a train carriage that doubles as the world’s greatest skateboarder.
For those who wish to rewatch the full PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct, you can find it on the official YouTube Channel. Otherwise, keep reading for TechTalesLeo’s easy-to-digest summary of every thrilling game revealed.
Blood: Refreshed Supply

Kicking things off with a bloody bang, we saw the exciting unveiling of Blood: Refreshed Supply. This is a Nightdive remaster of the beloved 1997 FPS classic, inviting players to blast their way through undead hordes across 42 original levels, with even more content promised in the Marrow and Death Wish scenarios.
Earth Must Die

The momentum continues with another thrilling reveal: Earth Must Die. Developer Size Five Games demonstrates impeccable taste, assembling a voice cast of British comedy royalty for this point-and-click sci-fi adventure. Prepare for a truly immersive experience brought to life by actors from Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, and Final Fantasy.
Minos
Another captivating world premiere, Minos re-imagines the classic tale of Theseus and the Minotaur from Asterius’ unique perspective. In this innovative roguelite, you’ll strategically design and shift the labyrinth’s layout and traps to thwart any intruders daring to challenge your domain.
Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth

To balance the intensity, we have the heartwarming and adorable Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth. This cozy puzzle game, revealed during the PC Gaming Show 2025, developed by Hyper Games, casts you as Moomintroll himself, waking early from hibernation. Explore the enchanting, snow-covered Moominvalley and assist its charming inhabitants.
Awaysis
Shifting gears from sweet to wonderfully wacky, we present Awaysis. This co-op, physics-based game promises hilarious mayhem, making it ideal for fans of titles like Fall Guys and anyone who enjoys a good laugh while their friends (and themselves) stumble around. There’s even a PC playtest available for sign-up!
Billie Bust Up
With dragons, musical axolotls, and a magical bunny, Billie Bust Up truly has it all. This title looks like a fantastic homage to classic platformers while introducing fresh mechanics. All boss battles will feature unique rhythm-based combat, so be sure to turn up the volume when you watch the trailer!
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties
Finally, the long-awaited remake of Yakuza 3 is here! As the first entry in the series to debut on PS3, it’s certainly deserving of a proper next-gen upgrade. Arriving in February 2026, players can continue the thrilling adventures of the legendary Kazuma Kiryu, the Dragon of Dojima.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there. Included with Kiwami 3 is Dark Ties, an all-new spin-off game delving into the story of Yoshitaka Mine, a former businessman turned yakuza. With boxing-centric action and a quest to fill his empty heart, this narrative is a must-experience for series aficionados.
Tanuki: Pon’s Summer
Next, we get a fresh look at one of the show’s most intriguing titles. Tanuki: Pon’s Summer playfully asks: what if an adorable little raccoon dog was an absolute BMX phenom? Embark on deliveries, assist the townsfolk, and earn enough currency to restore the Tanuki Shrine before summer’s end.
Gravebound
We then received a deeper look at the bullet-hell-inspired third-person combat of Gravebound. This post-apocalyptic extraction shooter appears to be an excellent choice for Destiny fans seeking a fresh challenge and a new landscape. Expect plenty of satisfying gear upgrades that see your numbers climb!
Kaiju Cleanup
For those seeking a truly unique **world premiere**, Kaiju Cleanup offers a delightfully messy experience. Developer Brightrock posed the question, “who cleans up after Godzilla attacks?”, and answered it with a game where you get to meticulously disassemble giant monsters and tidy up the cityscapes they’ve ravaged.
Hotel Barcelona
While Hotel Barcelona is already available, its unique style demanded a mention to ensure you know it’s ready to play right now! From the visionary minds of Suda51 and Swery65, you step into the shoes of a US Marshall possessed by a killer. Each day, awaken in the enigmatic hotel and battle through hordes of murderers.
Mars Tactics
Next up is Mars Tactics, a compelling turn-based game that continues the tradition of using the Red Planet as a backdrop for workers’ rights struggles. With hints of the original, isometric Fallout games and XCOM, you’ll need to decide: will you fight for your comrades?
Clawpunk
Clawpunk also embraces rebellion, though its similarities with Mars Tactics end there. This fast-paced roguelike casts you as a punk kitty cat, dishing out beatdowns to gangsters – it’s purrfectly chaotic (pun intended!). Even the environment is destructible, ensuring no cover lasts long, so stay nimble or risk losing one of your nine lives.
Killing Floor 3
While not a brand new game, we got our first look at new material for an eagerly awaited title. Killing Floor 3‘s Rearmament update is set to deliver three new weapons, a host of attachments, a reimagined perk system, and numerous bug fixes and performance enhancements. This update is slated for Halloween, and it’s definitely one you won’t want to miss.
Farmbotic
Another fantastic cozy game blend, we bring you the best of both Stardew Valley and Satisfactory. In Fambotic, you can cultivate your crops and enlist charming robot assistants to lend a hand (or a grabber, as the case may be!). Notably, Farmbotic recently transitioned from its previous name, Farmatic, a change we believe perfectly suits its current vision.
Denshattack
Now for some exclusive insights from the Tokyo Game Show floor! Denshattack stands out as one of the most creatively cool games on the horizon. Game director David Jaumandreu shared that the inspiration struck when he was playfully flipping a toy train carriage like a miniature skateboard in the office. If you can’t wait until next spring, be sure to catch a demo at the upcoming Steam Next Fest.
Doomspire
Prepare to descend into the Doomspire with this innovative deckbuilder, reminiscent of Hearthstone and Magic: The Gathering. You’ll discover a wealth of cards with powerful abilities to experiment with as you delve into the abyss and confront the formidable bosses lurking within.
The Relic: First Guardian
This captivating Asian folklore-inspired action RPG discards traditional leveling systems, instead emphasizing reliance on your gear and honed skills to overcome adversaries. Each “Brutal” boss presents a unique challenge, complete with its own rich backstory for you to uncover before you ultimately vanquish them.
Playsim Montage: A Trio of Intriguing Puzzles
Our first montage of the night arrives courtesy of Playsim, showcasing three distinctive games that seamlessly blend inventive puzzles with striking visuals.
MotionRec
Leading the Playsim montage is MotionRec, a brilliant puzzle game where you record your movements and replay them to overcome future obstacles. Need to bridge a wide chasm? Simply record a walk, then replay it once you reach the edge!
Mind Diver
Making Sherlock Holmes’ mind palace seem quaint, Mind Diver plunges you into a vast “mind ocean” to explore. Dive deep into its psychological currents to solve a missing persons case by meticulously reconstructing fragmented memories.
Dyping Escape
Concluding the Playsim montage is Dying Escape – and no, that’s not a typo! This unique horror game challenges you to type out what you see on screen to advance. Be warned, this game will undoubtedly make you look at your PC with a newfound sense of unease.
Turnbound
We’ve got another exciting world premiere for you now! In many video games, inventory management can be a chore, but in Turnbound, it becomes the very essence of powerful attacks. You’ll battle other players trapped in a haunted board game, harnessing the souls of literary figures like Sun Wukong, Alice in Wonderland, and Robin Hood. The asynchronous gameplay ensures you won’t be waiting around for your opponent’s next move.
Join Us
Back-to-back world premieres – Digital Tech Explorer certainly aims to keep you engaged! There’s an incredible amount going on in Join Us, so let’s break it down: you’ll construct a compound, convert locals to join your doomsday cult, ride bears, drive gatling gun-mounted lorries, and even cower in terror when Lovecraftian horrors herald the end of the world. At least the apocalypse looks like fun!
Threads of Time
This visually stunning 2.5D RPG will transport you across various epochs, where your past actions directly influence your future. Journey from 12 million BC, when dinosaurs roamed the earth (though we recommend not fact-checking that date), to the far-flung future of 2400, where mechs dominate the streets. Threads of Time is an adventure not to be overlooked.
Dawn of War 4
As avid fans of grand-scale mechs in video games, we at Digital Tech Explorer are particularly excited about Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4! The in-depth interview provided during the show shed valuable light on the new features implemented into this upcoming RTS game and the design philosophies behind them.
Soulmask 1.0 launch and Shifting Sands DLC
One of the joys of PC gaming is witnessing early access titles evolve. Soulmask, with its compelling Mayan survival challenges, is set to reach its 1.0 launch later this year. Furthermore, it will arrive with the “Shifting Sands” Egyptian gods-themed DLC, promising even more enriching content for players.
Reach
Reach is poised to elevate VR gaming with its exceptional parkour mechanics and diverse arsenal. Playing as Rosa, you’ll unravel the mysteries of a civilization crafted in humanity’s image. Wield a pistol and shield, a bow and arrow, or unleash devastation with a shotgun – all while maintaining fluid movement.
Outward 2
As a tech enthusiast with a soft spot for challenging games, TechTalesLeo is excited about Outward 2. If you, like me, prefer a true test of skill over pure power fantasy, this immersive RPG is for you. With no traditional leveling, success hinges solely on your preparation and abilities as you navigate a deadly world in this epic sequel.
Houseflipper 2 Pets DLC
If there’s one universal truth in gaming, it’s that cats make everything better! We’re thrilled to announce a purr-fectly adorable world premiere: the Houseflipper 2 Pets DLC. This expansion brings a new region to explore, over 40 breeds of cats and dogs, and more than 30 smaller pets like snakes and hamsters. Just remember to keep those last two in separate enclosures!
Annapurna Montage: A Publisher’s Showcase
It’s time for our second montage of the event, showcasing titles from Annapurna Interactive, renowned as one of the video game industry’s premier publishers.
Demi and the Fractured Dream
First up from Annapurna, we have Demi and the Fractured Dream, a visually striking adventure game featuring captivating character designs. With its engaging puzzles, intricate dungeons, and fluid action, this title is sure to delight fans of the Zelda series.
D-topia
Switching up the vibes is D-topia, a sleek sci-fi puzzle game set in a futuristic, utopian metropolis. Your task is to assist the AI that oversees everyone’s happiness, ensuring smooth operations. It’s a wonderfully peaceful experience, and did we mention there’s a big, adorable chonky cat? What’s not to love?
People of Note
A turn-based RPG musical – I never thought I’d see the day! People of Note follows Cadence on her journey to stardom as she gathers diverse musicians. Combine genres and engage in battles that unfold like captivating musical performances in this truly unique experience. What a crescendo for the Annapurna montage!
Oku
Next up is Oku, easily one of the most peaceful games revealed. Evoking the explorative joy of Journey and the gorgeous cel-shaded art style of Sable, Oku sees you traverse Japan as a wandering poet. Craft beautiful haikus to bring cheer to the strangers you encounter along your serene path.
Morbid Metal
We’re nearing the end of our showcase, but the pace isn’t slowing! In fact, you’ll need lightning-fast reflexes to keep up with Morbid Metal. This dynamic action game empowers you to shapeshift into various forms, fluidly altering your combat style on the fly.
Huntsman
Warning to arachnophobes: do not watch the trailer for Huntsman! This survival game plunges you into an abandoned lab teeming with gigantic spiders. It’s akin to *Alien: Isolation*, but with a significantly more terrifying eight-legged threat. We sincerely hope fire is a viable option for defense at some point!
RAEV: Kingdom on the Distant Shores
If you’ve ever played Civilization and wished for a faction of intelligent fox people, then RAEV: Kingdom on the Distant Shores is the game for you! Will you choose peaceful expansion or conquest by force? Whatever your strategy, the gridless freeform building system offers unparalleled freedom to construct the kingdom of your dreams.
Absolum
And now, a fascinating peek behind the scenes into how video game music is crafted! Absolum, a moody fantasy beat ’em up, demands an appropriately epic soundtrack. We were treated to the incredible talent of Yuka Kitamura, composer for Dark Souls and Elden Ring, as she brought the game’s soundscape to life. Sit back and enjoy this awesome musical journey!
Task Time
Your new go-to party game is here, and it’s a world premiere! Task Time delivers chaotic PvP action from developers who worked on *Gang Beasts* and *Fall Guys*, guaranteeing they know how to deliver fun. Boasting 500,000 randomly generated tasks, it promises endless entertainment for you and your friends, both online and via split-screen.
Broken Lore: Don’t Lie
To conclude our showcase, we’ve saved one final, chilling world premiere. Broken Lore: Don’t Lie is guaranteed to leave a lasting impression. This psychological horror game masterfully blurs the line between reality and disorienting hallucinations. As a spin-off of *Broken Lore: Don’t Look*, it’s an essential play for series fans and anyone seeking their next terrifying fix.
And that wraps up our coverage, tech explorers! Thank you for joining Digital Tech Explorer and TechTalesLeo for this thrilling rundown. If you’re hungry for more, fret not – you won’t have long to wait, as the PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted 2025 is just around the corner, broadcasting this December.
