Monster Hunter Wilds: How to Consistently Spawn Zoh Shia for Farming

So you’ve triumphed over the high rank Zoh Shia in Monster Hunter Wilds, but now the challenge is getting it to reappear for that essential gear grind. While the SOS Flare system offers one path, those hunts vanish fast. This guide, brought to you by TechTalesLeo at Digital Tech Explorer, will show you how to reliably spawn Zoh Shia and secure those crucial investigations.

If you’re diving into Title Update 1, you might also be looking to battle Mizutsune, earn Alma’s new glasses by tracking down Ayejack, or perhaps seek blessings from the new prayer bird. Regardless of your current pursuits, here’s how to get Zoh Shia to spawn so you can lock in its hunt as an investigation and begin farming efficiently.

How to Refight Zoh Shia in Monster Hunter Wilds

Zoh Shia, a formidable monster in Monster Hunter Wilds, rears onto its hind legs in a regal, threatening posture.

As many hunters know, the SOS flare system is a common method. By selecting SOS Flare Quests, targeting Zoh Shia in high rank, you can attempt to join ongoing hunts. However, the high demand means these slots fill up almost instantly. While persistent refreshing might eventually work, securing your own Zoh Shia investigations is far more efficient for farming.

You can also join a friend’s hunt if they have Zoh Shia active. However, to consistently farm it by acquiring your own Zoh Shia investigation in your world, try the following steps:

  • Travel to the Ruins of Wyveria and enter a tent.
  • Change the season to inclemency—the time of day doesn’t seem to be a critical factor.
  • Repeat this process of changing the season until Zoh Shia appears in the region.

While the time of day may not officially matter, in my experience hunting for Digital Tech Explorer, Zoh Shia seemed to appear more frequently at nighttime—though this could be attributed to RNG. When the monster does spawn, a notification will appear on the side of your screen. You can then confirm its presence by checking the environment overview for the region; similar to Jin Dahaad, a small icon will also appear next to the region, indicating Zoh Shia is active there.

The most crucial step is to register the Zoh Shia hunt as an investigation. This will allow you to repeat the hunt reliably up to three times per investigation. After encountering Zoh Shia in the wild (whether you hunt it immediately or not), or after completing an SOS hunt for it, be sure to check the Field Survey History section when speaking to Alma to save it as a formal investigation.
