Here at Digital Tech Explorer, we’re dedicated to keeping you ahead of the curve. Below, I’ll cover everything you need to know about this new season right now, including its release date, new heroes, and other exciting content arriving in the next major update.

Marvel Rivals Season 4 Release Date and Time

Season 4: The Heart of the Dragon Official Trailer | Clashes unfold Sept 12, 2025 | Marvel Rivals - YouTube

Marvel Rivals Season 4 officially launches on Friday, September 12, 2025, following server downtime at 1 am PDT / 4 am EST / 9 am GMT. This timing coincides with the conclusion of Season 3, though its battle pass will remain available for a brief period.

The mid-season update, Season 4.5, is set to arrive just one month later on Friday, October 10, 2025. Honestly, as a dedicated player, I’m still adjusting to this accelerated pace, with full seasons now lasting only two months.

Here’s a breakdown of everything new in Season 4:

  • New heroes: Angela and Daredevil
  • New map: K’un-Lun Heart of Heaven (Convergence mode)
  • Arcade mode: Clone Rumble and Giant-Size Brain Blast are now permanent modes
  • Favorite heroes feature: You can now add heroes to a favorites section for easier selection
  • Dedicated slow walk button on PC
  • Gallery Card download feature
  • Custom colors and Moods in chat
  • New accessories
  • Ultimate ability VFX customization will now be visible to all players by default, with an opt-out option in settings
  • Balance changes
  • New team-ups

Perhaps the most surprising news is the arrival of Marvel Rivals on PS4, launching simultaneously with this update. Given the sometimes-spotty performance on PC, it’s quite impressive that it’s running on PS4, which is excellent news for console players.

Additionally, while placement matches are confirmed for the future, this highly anticipated feature won’t be making its debut in Season 4. Nevertheless, requiring players to complete placement matches before entering the competitive scene should significantly improve overall match quality when it does arrive.

Marvel Rivals Season 4: New Heroes

The latest heroes joining the roster in Marvel Rivals Season 4 are none other than Angela and Daredevil, arriving in the 4.0 and 4.5 updates, respectively. Let’s delve into what we know about them so far.

Angela

Marvel Rivals Season 4: An almost fully-body shot of Angela as she pulls her wing towards her shoulder.
  • Role: Vanguard
  • Health: 600

Angela steps into the fray as a Vanguard hero, marking the first new tank addition since Emma Frost at the start of Season 2. This one-winged warrior, an ex-Asgardian assassin, boasts the unique ability to manifest various weapons on the fly. She can summon a spear to charge into enemy lines, a shield to absorb incoming damage, or unleash devastating divebombs with dual axes in her ultimate to crush foes and protect allies. Quite the intimidating hero, isn’t she? As a tank main, this is exactly what I’ve been looking for!

Here’s a look at Angela’s abilities:

  • Spear of Ichors (normal attack): Lunge forward with your spear, dealing damage that increases with attack charge. At full charge, this will also launch enemies.
  • Axe of Ichors (alternate attack): Powerful strikes with twinned axes, dealing increased damage with attack charge. The fourth strike propels you forward in a dash.
  • Shielded Stance (secondary ‘attack’): Transform Ichors into a shield, gaining attack charge when absorbing damage.
  • Heven’s Retribution (ultimate): Hurl your spear, binding nearby enemies on impact. Angela can leap to the spear’s location, damaging surrounding enemies and creating a Divine Judgement zone.
  • Assassin’s Charge (ability): Enter an accelerated dash state, becoming immune to knock-back and launch-up effects. Enemies struck head-on are carried through the air for a short distance.
  • Divine Judgement (ability): Dive downward and switch to twin axes, infusing the impact area with Ichors to create a Divine Judgement zone that gives you increased attack speed and bonus health to both yourself and allies.
  • Wingblade Ascent (ability): Take to the skies, switching back to Spear of Ichors.
  • Seraphic Soar (passive): Glide freely through the air. Continuous flight builds attack charge.

Daredevil

Marvel Rivals Season 4: A close-up shot of Daredevil, looking up slightly with a determined facial expression under his mask.

Since Daredevil is slated for the Season 4.5 update, detailed information about his kit is still limited. While his exact role has yet to be officially confirmed, it’s hard to imagine the Man Without Fear as anything other than a Duelist. If so, he would be our third DPS hero within a four-month period, adding more offensive punch to the roster.

Marvel Rivals Season 4 Team-Ups

As expected, Marvel Rivals Season 4 also introduces and modifies several team-up abilities, adding new strategic depth:

  • Black Panther joins Gamma Charge (Hulk + Namor), allowing him to automatically gain a gamma shield when his health gets low.
  • Magik joins the Arcane Order (Doctor Strange + Scarlet Witch), letting her link two enemies together to apply a slow debuff that scales based on how far apart they were before they got pulled together.
  • A new Divine Armoury team-up (Angela + Thor) lets Thor throw a spear, which restores Thorforce upon hit and allows him to leap towards the impact for a second burst of damage.
