Diablo 4 Enthusiasts Rejoice: Mount Enhancements on the Horizon

Diablo 4 enthusiasts, the moment we’ve all been eagerly anticipating has arrived—our steeds are about to get a significant upgrade. Traversing the Fractured Peaks on horseback, I’ve encountered countless skeletal obstructions, a recurring nuisance after slaying hordes of skeletons. Despite surviving encounters with zombies, insects, arachnids, and even polar bears, my horse has always been stymied by these skeletal barricades.

However, the tides are turning with the upcoming patch 1.1.1, as it will empower every player’s horse with the ability to demolish these pesky skeletal walls. Joe Shely, Diablo 4’s game director, took to Twitter to announce this exciting new feature, which was also discussed in the latest Campfire Chat stream.

Additionally, Shely confirmed that the frustrating 10-second mount cooldown will be reset upon using ladders, addressing another common travel grievance in Estuar. The open world of Diablo 4 offers a refreshing departure from the flat terrains of its predecessors, but the ladder issue has often led players to bypass chests or valuable herbs. Thankfully, that’s about to change.

Controller users have faced their own set of challenges, particularly when it comes to the Spur ability’s speed boost, which only stacked twice instead of the intended three times. This discrepancy will also be rectified in the forthcoming patch.

While the full list of changes in the next Diablo 4 patch has yet to be disclosed, Blizzard has indicated that the patch notes will be published on Wednesday, with the update going live the following week. Last week’s revelations hinted at significant buffs for Sorcerers and Barbarians to maintain parity with the other classes in the game’s inaugural season. Key skills and Legendary aspects for these classes will be enhanced, revitalizing existing builds and paving the way for new strategies.

As a Necromancer player, my primary concern is the speed of my mount. With the release of patch 1.1.1 on August 8, our mounts will be transformed into veritable speed demons, much to the delight of players like myself.
